Although despite my dog, the mystery spider has now dissapeared but I have noticed it web has expanded uncomfortably in the corner where I stand, which proves to me that it is not dead (even though a part of me wishes the spider was gone its larger almost invisible maze still appears new. observation notes 10/8) yet. The sky's unchanging beauty is a relaxing mixture of red that fades to purple, and the pine needles that fall helplessly by the wind and land in my balcony do catch my attention and leave me looking up at the tree. I find the common mountain chickadee as usual and possibly a dove but every time I see it, it reminds me of a pigeon, it has the colors of a dirty gray with a light tan combination and when it flies it's tail and wings spead, and expands to show it's hidden pure white color from underneath. The bird reminds me that there's always there's always beauty hidden underneath.
Despite the beauty of nature floats above the apartment complexes, the kids that play are always a reminder of childhood, these kids are so full of life, and have little worry of future problems that await them except for maybe future releases of technology that will bring them out of date and wishing they can catch up. Even though they say this generation is robbed from their childhood due to new technology, these kids that are always out and playing prove to me otherwise. They all have some sort connection to each other and no kid is a stranger for to long, it's amazingly rare to see the grass and cement not filled with a child's foot steps, or the reminiscing laughter, cries, and talks. I don't like children in general, especially when I'm looking out, they are weird, gross, funny, small, daring, and annoying, there are so many words to describe them but the more words I can think of, the more there are that describe me and the child that I use to be. Which is why I don't think that they're being robbed, just because I am constantly looking at a screen doesn't mean that everyone else is, I remember watching tv from only three channels, which is consequently why I had played outside so much, but the generation before us has a choice and these kids are choosing to live a life of play, and take their risk because they're still not influenced by our opinions and challenges ahead of them.

Did your dog die? I'm sorry--I know that's like losing a family member. Actually it is losing a family member. I love the description of the the dove.
ReplyDeleteI understand what you're saying about the kids still actively playing the same way we did as youngsters, but I also believe they're being overwhelmingly influenced by the media. Whether that's apps on their phones, ads, or cyberbullying, I think that its taken a huge effect on the youth. I recently got the experience of having a sleepover overwhelmingly populated by twelve year olds--every other word was a joke from a vine, a reference to a meme or about the things in the news, and not a moment was left un-snapchatted. They played and talked all night, but that didn't mean it wasn't all about the technology. In some ways it adds, but I think it really does detract from the experience of childhood.
ReplyDeleteWow... I had no idea that you disliked children this much. Children are annoying but they're also amazing just the way we once were. There's literally not a day I don't hear an adult complaining about teenagers constantly being on their phone. I try to understand them but I simply can't because quite honestly I believe that when teenagers are on the phone a lot it helps them multitask therefore it can't be as bad as they make it seem.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, I feel like part of our childhood was filled with constantly being outside–playing, laughing and always doing something active. I think really no child at such a young age likes to stay inside all day. I really like how you point out that technology is not taking over everyone as most adult always nag us about. There is still people even as teens who go outside and be active.
